Interactive Digital Media Project
There's an older version of this project as well.
Produce an Interactive Digital Multimedia Product (IDMP) about your town.
Outline scheme of work – updated 9 February 2025
There's a markgrid idea:
Markgrid – new 26 February 2025
Some ideas for do now tasks. These are only ideas and will need checking and filling out the top and bottom.

If you're doing video first though:
Lesson 2 video route (PowerPoint version)
1 – What is an IDMP?
Explore what they are, producing a document with examples.
Intro slides – these might be the ones to teach from
What is an IDMP (PowerPoint version) – this might be better used as a reference
Written tasks (PowerPoint version)
There are a set of example IDMPs that can be explored.
2 – Project brief
A client brief:

Then dem and create the basic product, using the structure chart and wireframe as a guide. Skills guides towards the bottom of this page.
Order of work for setup (PowerPoint version)
The idea of wireframe layouts and structure charts will need to be taught explicitly as part of this process.

Wireframe layout slides (PowerPoint version) – changed 6 March 2025
Print version of wireframe – changed 6 March 2025
There's a blank wireframe to use for the design of the final slide:
It would be a good idea to talk about copyright briefly at this stage and to try to convince children to use copyright free sources.
Copyright slides (PowerPoint version)
It might be a good idea to use an assets table when saving images etc... If we can go heavy on saving rather than copying and on using copyright free where possible.
Two good sources of copyright free images:
Wikipedia is a likely source for text:

Set of videos:
Where to get the videos from (PowerPoint version)
The video clips are all by Rene Strgar who uploaded them as free to use video to Pexels (here's a link to one of the videos)
Video brief (PowerPoint version)
Storyboards (PowerPoint version)
There's a storyboard sheet to use. This needs printing.
Video clips are in shared docs as the files get quite large at times.
Location of video clips (PowerPoint version)
Guides on how to use software will come once I get a chance to figure it out...
There are sites to download copyright free sounds and music at this page – there's a username/password combo for the sites which require them that should work – this works best printed and put on the classroom wall I find
4 – Review and Refine
Review and refine the work. Here's one way to do this.
Review task slides (PowerPoint version)
Possible use of a test table:
IDMP Skills
Slides summarising basic skills in PowerPoint to create an IDMP. The setup is particularly important.
Setting up an IDMP in PowerPoint
Adding buttons and hyperlinks to navigate with
Using a master slide – maybe for the title stuff?
Making skills:
Adding objects (images mainly)
Adding audio (probably not needed for this project)
Adding decent maps using Google Maps
The final product needs to saved as a PowerPoint Show (ppsx).
Video Skills
These are for Filmora.
