Media codes are ways that meaning, mood, and atmosphere are added to media products. They are used to attract and keep an audience's attention and to help them understand the messages the product is communicating.
There are a set of media codes you need to know a bit about.
The codes can be split into three groups.
Technical media codes
These use technology and technical equipment.
Written media codes
Typography is about the use of text.
Symbolic media codes
These use symbolism to get their message across.
