Band Manager Spreadsheets
March 2023: I planned on reworking this stuff, but other stuff happened. I might still get to that at some point, but I do like the idea so this will stay here for a while, probably for pretty much ever. If I do get around to reworking it the band will probably change name and there will be more stuff added eventually - although it may be a bit skeleton-like for starters.
The Shakes are probably the seventh best band in Norfolk.
They were formed in Lincolnshire a couple of years back but moved to Belton so they weren't just another band out of Boston.
Part 0: Warmup
This will be some basic reminders of spreadsheets and how they work and what they can be used for. Because of The Covid it's possible children won't have actually done anything very much with spreadsheets.
This will probably be a band equipment spreadsheet created from scratch and then something involving calculations - like a rehearsal space booking sheet.
Part 1: Debut
Fi, the band's manager, needs some help sorting out the online shops the band runs.
You will need to download these two spreadsheets:
The tasks start with the music spreadsheet:
The Music Store Spreadsheet - start here
Formatting the Music Store Spreadsheet
Then you can move on to the Merch spreadsheet:
Part 2: The Difficult Second Part
Fi needs more help. She's got a spreadsheet to help organise the band's tour of Norfolk, but it's not much help.
Start by downloading the spreadsheet.
And then work through the tasks.
If you get done with that, there are a few more jobs that would make the spreadsheet better.
Extending the Tour Spreadsheet
Part 3: The Gig (No Sleep 'til Hunstanton)
This will be a spreadsheet dealing with an individual gig I think. There's a prototype thing here. Possibly some use of goal seek sorts of things?
Part 4: A Farewell to Kings Lynn
A national tour. Using Google Maps to get driving times, building in breaks and hotel locations and distance and travel cost. Probably.
The vague plan is that this will lead in to making a CD cover, so there might be some other stuff here. Not sure if there are many more spreadsheet jobs to add though.
