Basic Spreadsheets
Basics. There's some stuff in the lighthouses unit in computational thinking.
Part 1 – Lighthouse spreadsheets
These are a nice, basic introduction and include usinge a sheet and making one.
They are here, including a basic intro to spreadsheets
Guides to use as needed:
Part 2 – Olympic medals A
Another spreadsheet to make and to use some simple formulas and functions with:
This task really needs updating so that there's a bit less data entry. There's a slightly different version on the lighthouses page.
Part 3 – Party Planner
Yeah, probably that one. But with instructions.
Part 4 – Bakeoff calculations
Yeah, that one. But with instrunctions again... For lots of formulae. Doesn't take long; probably part 3 and 4 are one lesson tops.
Part 5 – Band spreadsheets
Using formulae, functions, and formatting.
These are on their own page. Probably only the Music store and Merch store ones for now. The tour one might be useful with the next bit though.
Part 6 – Olympic medals B (filter, sort, analysis)
Yeah, that one. But updated to 2024 because that took 10 minutes and reorganised so that it's much easier to do.
Sorting and filtering instructions
Using functions for data analysis
A guide to more complex formulae – needs finishing for IF
Part 7 – More sorting and filtering
Sets of spreadsheets to sort and filter. Not developed yet.
Part 8 – Graph drawing
Some graphs for lighthouses.
This is on the lighthouses page.
There's also a lot more graph drawing in the functional skills section that I might well use.
Part 9 – Assessment
Slightly adapted.
